How It Works
This feature is currently in beta, and is available by default on Thinkific sites created on or after January 28, 2026 and on some Thinkific sites created prior to January 28, 2026. We are working on adding features and functionality and releasing it to more customers. Stay tuned for updates if you do not see the option on your site!
The Learner Hub is enabled by default on qualified sites. It consists of the following pages:
- Learner home: a highly dynamic and personalized page based on the learner’s purchased products. It includes multiple widgets, like a welcome video, a widget displaying the most recent course, and other dynamic widgets.
- Library: Shows all courses and digital downloads that a learner is enrolled in and has access to.
- Communities: Shows communities that a learner is enrolled in and has access to.
- Events: Shows all past and present coaching & webinar events
- Direct Messages: If enabled, shows all direct messages/conversations a learner has with other users.
- Catalog: Shows all available products that a learner has not purchased or was not enrolled in.
- Custom pages: If available, you can create custom pages and navigation menu items.
These are default names only. You have the option to change the name of these pages and change the order in which they are displayed on the side navigation. Learn more: How to Customize Your Learner Hub.
Learners can navigate between each page by selecting the corresponding option in the side navigation menu. These navigation items are dynamic, which means that they will only appear if a feature is enabled or a learner has access to the specific type of learning product. Learn more about each page below.
Note that as an admin, you will see ALL of the potential widgets and side navigation items, even if a corresponding product is not created or not set up. To see the Learner Hub from a learner perspective, use the preview function. Learn more: Admin Experience.
Learner Home
The Learner Home is the personalized home page your learners see when they log into your site. It brings together key parts of their learning experience, helping them stay focused, organized, and engaged.
The Learner Home is made up of flexible, easy-to-navigate widgets. These appear based on what the learner has access to, so the experience is relevant for each learner.
Here are the widgets learners might see:
- Welcome Message: A welcome message that displays “Welcome, [Full Name]”
-
Welcome Video: This widget allows you to optionally upload a video to greet learners, introduce your program, or provide tips. Learners can dismiss this if they prefer not to see it again.
At the moment, it is not possible to select an existing video from your Video Library. You will need to upload the video to this section.
- Most Recent Course: Displays the course the learner was last working on, with a Start/Resume button and progress tracker.
- Other Courses In Progress: Displays up to three additional courses the learner has started, helping them easily pick up where they left off.
- Upsell Widget: If the learner's most recently purchased product has an order bump, and they have not yet purchased it, this order bump product will display in this section. If no order bump qualifies, then the most recently published product that the learner has enrolled in will display. Up to three products may be displayed.
- Digital Downloads: Provides quick access to any downloadable files the learner has purchased.
- AI Teaching Assistant: Thinker - AI Teaching Assistant, a smart assistant that helps learners search for and navigate content across their learning experience, will appear here if it is enabled on your site. Note that the feature is available on Plus plans only.
- Upcoming Events: Shows up to three upcoming webinars.
- Community Highlights: Displays community posts from the most recent active community the learner is a part of, encouraging interaction and peer engagement.
- Get in Touch: A simple way for learners to contact you via email, if enabled.
- Custom widgets: if available, custom widgets allow you to expand the standard Learner Hub functionality and build exactly what you need to create a unique learning experience for your learners/ Learn more here: Custom Widgets: Build Rich Page Experiences in Your Learner Hub
Widgets will only appear if they apply to that learner. For example, if a learner hasn’t purchased any downloads, the Digital Downloads widget won’t show up.
Library
The Library is where learners can find all the courses and digital downloads they’ve purchased or been enrolled in.
What’s Included:
- Courses: Learners can start, resume, or continue any course they have access to.
- Digital Downloads: Any digital downloads they’ve purchased are available here.
- Categories: Learners can filter products using admin-selected categories.
- Search and Filter Options: Learners can search by keywords to quickly find what they’re looking for.
- Tabs: Content is neatly organized under two tabs: Courses and Digital Downloads.
Clicking on a course will open it in the course player, and learners can also view their certificates for completed courses.
This page only appears if the learner has access to at least one course or digital download.
Communities
The Communities page displays all of the communities and spaces that the learner is a member of, directly in the Learner Hub. You or your learners can see all of your communities at a glance, making it easier to engage with others and stay connected.
Learn more about the New Community Experience here: New Community Experience.
This page appears only if the learner is enrolled in at least one community.
Events
The Events page helps learners see webinars that they’ve registered for.
What’s Included:
- Upcoming Events tab: Lists events that are scheduled for the future
- Past Events tab: Lists events that have already taken place.
- Search Function: Learners can search by keywords to quickly find what they’re looking for.
Learners can quickly check event details, access their events, or review past sessions.
Note that the events page does not list coaching sessions, community live events, or live lessons.
This page only appears if the learner has purchased or registered for at least one event.
Direct Messages
The Direct Messages page lets learners communicate directly with other learners or instructors.
This page appears only if direct messaging is turned on in your community settings.
Catalog
The Catalog page showcases all the products that are available for purchase, but that the learner has not yet purchased or enrolled in.
What’s Included:
- All products: A visual listing of available products grouped by type (Courses, Downloads, Communities, Webinars, Coaching, Bundles, Memberships).
- Categories: Learners can filter products using admin-selected categories.
- Product information: Product name, product image, instructor name, and pricing are visible, making it easy for your learners to find products they are interested in.
- Landing Pages: Learners can click on the product image to go directly to the product page.
Once a learner purchases a product, it disappears from the Catalog and appears in their Library or respective product area.
This page only appears if there are active products available that the learner hasn’t purchased.
Custom Pages
Custom Pages let you add additional pages to your Learner Hub's primary navigation, giving you full control over what your learners see and where they can go in their learning experience. Each custom page can either be hosted in the Learner Hub or be opened in a new tab as an external URL that redirects learners to any web address you specify.
Learn more here: Custom Navigation Pages: Build a Personalized Learner Hub Navigation
Learner Experience
The Learner Hub is your learner's personalized command center. They will access this experience anytime they log into their account on your site, and will be able to access their products, engage with your materials or other peers directly from there.
When logging in to your site, learners see a clean, dynamic home that reflects only what they’ve purchased, and a dynamic side navigation that automatically adjusts based on each individual's learner purchase history and your site's settings.
In addition to the pages above, learners can also access their student profile and account settings by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the side navigation. They can also access their web notifications by clicking on the bell icon at the top of the Learner Hub.
Admin Experience
The Learner Hub is automatically enabled on qualified accounts, so no additional action is required from you. To access the Learner Hub as an admin, from your Admin Dashboard, select Learner Hub.
The Admin view is designed for creating, managing, and previewing the learner environment. As an admin, you will see ALL of the potential widgets and side navigation items, even if a corresponding product is not created or not set up. This allows you to see all of the potential navigation options.
As an admin, you will see all of the products listed in both the LIbrary tab and the Catalog page. This is the expected behaviour. Your learners will only see products they purchased or have access to and they will see them on one or the other page.
As an admin, you will see additional admin-only options in the Learner Hub:
- Admin arrow: Allows you to go back to the Admin Dashboard.
- Preview as a learner: Turn on a preview function to view the page exactly as a learner would see it. This means that only widgets and side navigation items populated with published products will be visible.
- Edit layout: Allows you to customize the Learner Home page by editing and reordering widgets.
