About Course Landing Pages
Your course landing page is a webpage on your site where you can showcase your course, and prompt leads to sign up!
Every course that you sell through Thinkific has a course landing page created by default. You'll often hear different names for these pages, like sales pages or lead pages. In Thinkific, we call them your course landing pages.
You can add a variety of content to your course landing page, including a description of your course, curriculum outline, and most importantly - a call to action button to allow students to enroll.

Getting Started
To guarantee that your course landing page looks complete and students can easily enroll, you'll want customize the following things. You can always add more customizations and fine-tune later, but if you're just getting started, make sure to take care of these things first!
How to Access Your Course Landing Page
From your Admin Dashboard:
- Go to Products
- Select Courses
- Click on the course you want to edit
- Click Build product page on the top right
- Now you are in Site Builder!
How to Edit Each Section
You can edit each Site Builder section by simply clicking the section name in the left menu in Site Builder. Each section will include different elements that can also be edited within the menu. Remember that the right side of Site Builder is for previewing your site only. Any changes you want to make must be made with the left menu:
Customize Your Banner
This is the most important part of your course landing page, as it is what will describe your course and include a call to action button for students to enroll. Simply click on the section called Banner (course) to start customizing!
Headings
By default, your Banner will automatically include your course name and description. You can choose to customize this with your own text by simply unchecking Automatically add course name and description.
Background (Vogue) or Hero Image (Empire & Vision)
We suggest adding a background image to your banner, if you have one available. We recommend a 1440px x 720px (1MB) image. Don't include any words or logos in your banner image as they may get cropped when viewed on a phone or small device. Learn more here!
If you are on the new Vogue theme, you can also choose to set a Color as your background instead of using an image. You can choose between your Primary and Secondary theme colors.
Picture-in-Picture and Video
These options are available on all Vision theme banners, and Course Banners in Vogue themes (v1.18.1 and higher) and Empire themes (v1.18.2 and higher).
In some Site Builder themes, you can also include a video and thumbnail image in your landing page banner. These options are accessed through the Picture-in-picture settings, where you can select a video to use and also upload a thumbnail image.
If you'd prefer not to use these options, just leave the image empty (or remove the existing image, if one was included by default.)
Button
A buy button linked to your checkout is automatically added to your banner. This default button is dynamic, which means it will:
- Automatically link to your course checkout
- If you have additional pricing options like a payment plan, it will display a dropdown menu for students to choose their preferred price
- If a student is already enrolled in the course, it will say Resume Course instead of Buy
Adding a button will override this default dynamic button, so we don't recommend doing this unless you need something custom.
You can choose to hide the default button by unchecking the hide default buttons box at the top left
Course Curriculum
A Curriculum [smart section] will also automatically be included on your course landing page. It will populate all chapters and lessons in that are not currently set to draft.
Share Your Course
With these two essential sections on your course landing page, you are ready to start sharing! Just make sure your course is published and you can send students a link straight to your course landing page to enroll.
If you are still setting up your site and not quite ready to share, make sure to continue working through Getting Started with Thinkific or check out some additional options below if you want to customize further!
Next Steps
Now that you've completed your basic setup, here are some optional steps to consider when building your landing page.
Add Additional Sections
You can include additional optional Site Builder Sections to your course landing page. Here are a few popular section suggestions:
- Instructor section: Let students know who you are by adding your instructor bio
- Checklist: Provide a checklist of the key outcomes your course will deliver.
- All pricing options [smart section]: If you have additional pricing options for your course, display them all with this dynamic section.
- Frequently asked questions: Help your students make a purchasing decision by covering the most common questions about your course.
- and much more...
