A banner is included by default on your course, bundle, membership, and community landing pages. This banner incorporates key information about your product, as well as a buy button!

What is a product banner?
A banner is a Site Builder section on your landing page that includes heading text, an image, and a call to action.
Every product that you sell through Thinkific has a landing page created by default. Your course, bundle, membership, or community landing page is a webpage on your site that is specifically designed to showcase your product, and prompt leads to sign up.
Within this default landing page, we've include a standard banner section. In Site Builder, you'll see that these sections are named Banner (course), Banner (bundle), or Banner (community), depending on which product page you are viewing. These banners function very similar to other Site Builder Banners, except some key information like your product name and pricing is automatically populated for you!
Note: Currently, the banner section for both Memberships and Bundles is labeled "Banner (bundle)".
Banner Settings
Your banner will have a few elements that automatically populate - these can be fully customized in Site Builder!
Headings
By default, your banner will automatically include your product name. You can choose to customize this with your own text by simply unchecking Automatically add the [product] name.
Hero Image
Make sure to add a background image to your banner! We recommend a 1440px x 720px (1MB) image. Don't include any words or logos in your banner image as they may get cropped when viewed on a phone or small device.

Picture-in-Picture and Video
These options are available on all Vision theme banners, and Course Banners in Vogue themes (v1.18.1 and higher) and Empire themes (v1.18.2 and higher).
In some Site Builder themes, you can also include a video and thumbnail image in your landing page banner. These options are accessed through the Picture-in-picture settings, where you can select a video to use and also upload a thumbnail image.
If you'd prefer not to use these options, just leave the image empty (or remove the existing image, if one was included by default.)
Button
A buy button linked to your checkout is automatically added to your banner. This default button is dynamic, which means it will:
- Automatically link to your product checkout
- If you have additional pricing options like a payment plan, it will display a dropdown menu for students to choose their preferred price
- If a student is already enrolled in the product, it will say Resume [Product] instead of Buy
- If you have any Free Preview courses, you'll also see a second Free Preview button displayed in the banner

A few things to note about banner buttons:
- Adding a button to your banner will override this default dynamic button, so we don't recommend doing this unless you need something custom.
- These buttons will not take visitors to your checkout unless your product is published. If a student clicks on a buy button before your product is published, the current landing page will simply refresh.
- Buttons will appear by default even when a product is not published yet. If you don't see a default button, make sure to update your theme to version 1.17.1 or higher.
- You can also remove the default buttons by checking off Hide default buttons (product pages only)

Navigate to Your Course Landing Page Banner
- Go to Manage Learning Products
- Select Courses
- Click on the course you want to edit
- Click Build Landing Page on the top right and you'll be taken to Site Builder
- Click on Banner (course) in the left menu
- Then click on any setting to start customizing!

Navigate to Your Bundle Landing Page Banner
- Go to Manage Learning Products
- Select Bundles
- Click on the bundle you want to edit
- Click Build Landing Page on the top right and you'll be taken to Site Builder!
- Click on Banner (bundle) in the left menu
- Then click on any setting to start customizing!

Navigate to Your Community Landing Page Banner
- Go to Manage Learning Content
- Select Communities
- Locate your community, click the ellipses (3 dot icon) and select Edit
- Click Build Landing Page on the top right and you'll be taken to Site Builder!
- Click on Banner (community) in the left menu
- Then click on any setting to start customizing!

Navigate to Your Membership Landing Page Banner
- Go to Manage Learning Products
- Select Memberships
- Click on the Membership you want to edit
- Click Build Landing Page on the top right and you'll be taken to Site Builder!

- Then click on any setting to start customizing!
