About This Feature
A great way to keep the interest of your community of students and prompt more sales is by including a Course Completion Email.
Course Completion Emails are an excellent way to engage with your students and it gives you a chance to market your other courses to them. The email includes an Explore Courses section to promote the first 3 public and published courses on your website. You can decide which (or all) of your courses will deliver a completion email to the student after they have finished the course.
How It Works
These emails are sent out to the student and will have information like their name, the course they took, the instructor’s name, and whether or not a certificate is available.
The email subject and body are fully customizable. You can also include variables to automatically populate student details!
Note: We recently released a security update for the text editor. The Upload File button is now restricted to document and media files.
Email Variables
The variables in the course completion email will auto-fill out each of the noted fields, based on previously recorded information. For example, {{user_first_name}} will pull the first name of the student automatically from their sign-up and fill it into the relevant spot in the email.

How To Edit Your Course Completion Email
The email editing function is exclusively available on paid plans.
- Go to Users
- Select Notification Emails
- Select Course completion email on the left
- Beside your desired course, click Edit
- Make your desired changes
- Click Save
How to Turn On Your Course Completion Email
When this notification is on, the course completion email will automatically send after your student receives 100% completion in the course.
- Go to Users
- Select Notification Emails
- Select Course completion email on the left
- Beside your desired course, select the toggle to move it to the right (a notification is on when the toggle appears blue and is on the right)
A notification will appear on the bottom left side of your screen confirming the change.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I preview my course completion email and preview what it will look like for my students?
You can preview the content of your course completion emails when you click Edit next to these emails in the Admin Dashboard (see instructions above).
To preview how your course completion emails display for your students, you can create a test student account and complete a course, or use the method outlined in this article for how to send test emails. You also have the option to CC your email address on course completion emails, so that you receive a copy every time a student is sent a course completion email.
When will my student be sent a course completion email?
Students are automatically sent a course completion email as soon as they reach 100% completed progress in a course.
I enabled course completion emails for my course after a student had already completed the course. Will this student still get a course completion email?
No, only students who finish the course after your enable that course's completion email will receive it. For students who previously finished the course, you have the option to send them a personalized email.
