Solution
In order to receive a Thinkific Certificate from the student's perspective you will need to complete 100% of the course and click Get Your Certificate after completion. You can do this by previewing your course as an enrolled student within the course builder and completing the lessons from there.
For longer courses a quicker workaround here might be to create a test course with only one lesson and assign the same certificate to this course. You can then complete the single lesson within this test course and immediately receive the certificate, in order to see how it will appear to students.
