How to Share Your Mobile App

Once the Thinkific Mobile App is enabled on your account, you can start sharing the app with your students! This article outlines how you can access and share the Thinkific app and provides templates you can use when communicating with your learners.

Learner Experience

When your audience uses either a QR Code or a Dynamic Link to access your school, their device will open the Apple Store or the Play Store on the Thinkific app store listing. There, they will be able to download and install the app. When they open the app, they will be automatically redirected to your school's screen.

If your students have already downloaded the Thinkific Mobile app, they can also search for your school directly in the app.

How to Share Your App

The easiest way for your audience to download and access your courses or communities through the Thinkific mobile app is by using a QR code or a Dynamic Link. With these options, your audience will be able to download the app from the app stores and be directed to your school. To access and share your QR Code or a Dynamic link:

Go to your Admin Dashboard
Select Mobile App
Under the Unlock mobile learning for your audience now section, click on Copy QR Code to copy an image of the QR code to your clipboard and click on Copy Link to copy the dynamic link.
The QR Code and the Dynamic Link are specific to your school and include information about your school, such as school name, logo, color, and subdomain, which will be displayed on the log in screen. Learn more here: Style and Logo Settings for Your Mobile App.

Email template

Use the below template with our Mass User Email feature or an Email Marketing app of your choice and reach all of your students at once!

Course lesson template

To help your audience find success with the mobile app, we’d recommend building a lesson within your existing course that provides details about how to install and use the mobile app.

Here’s a lesson outline to help you get started:

Introduction (goal)

Use this section to introduce Thinkific and the new mobile app

Content (story, explanation)

Provide details on the benefits of the mobile app and how it will enhance their learning. Here are a few examples of what you could highlight:

The app will provide access to your courses and communities on the go
Your audience can easily stay in the loop with all of the latest course and community updates
Your audience can use the mobile community to share their progress, asks questions and connect with others by making posts, comments and replying to threads

In this section, also consider adding some imagery or screenshots to your course and/or community on the mobile app.

Summary (wrap it up)

Use this section to provide instructions on how they can get started. We recommend sharing your dynamic link and letting them know that they simply have to install that link and log in to the app with their existing course/community credentials.

Here are steps that you can copy and paste:

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store using the following link: [INSERT YOUR DYNAMIC LINK HERE]
Once you have downloaded the app, simply log in using your existing credentials.

Close off the lesson by summarizing what they’ve just learned about the mobile app.

Lesson follow-up

Once you have published this new lesson, we recommend checking in with your audience to see if they have any additional questions. A great way to do this is by posting to your community to ensure as many members as possible get the answers they need.

Important Considerations

If you have updated your school name, logo, default color, or subdomain, make sure to update the QR Code or the Dynamic link you previously shared. Otherwise, your students might see an outdated school name, logo, default color, or subdomain on the login screen, as this information is included in the link.
