What is a Product Bundle?

Product bundles give you the opportunity to sell multiple products (courses, communities, paid digital downloads, or paid coaching or webinar products) together in one package. You can choose to add either all products of one type, or you can add products of several types into one bundle.

For example: If you have seven individual courses that are each available for $99; with Course Bundles you could offer all seven courses together in one bundle for $500 - therefore increasing the value for your customer!

How to Create a Product Bundle

  1. From your Admin Dashboard, select Sales
  2. Select Bundles
  3. Click + New Bundle in the top right
  4. Enter a name for your bundle (this can be changed later)
  5. Hit Create bundle

Now that your bundle has been created, you will need to add products to it! To add products:

  1. From the Products tab, select Add a Product
  2. From the dropdown menu, select the courses or communities you want to add to your bundle

Note: Products you add to your bundles will auto-save once they have been selected.

Important Considerations

Bundle Settings

Basic Settings

Under the Settings tab, select Basic Settings. From this section, you can update the bundle name and URL, and choose whether or not you want your bundle to be private or hidden (making the bundle hidden will hide it from your site landing page so that only users with a direct link to the bundle landing page are able to access it).

In the Bundle image & description section, you can upload an image for your bundle card, and add a brief description of what is contained within your bundle. The bundle image is what will represent your bundle on your site landing page, and the description will be listed beside the image.

Under SEO & Page Code, you can add custom code and search engine optimization (SEO) information to the bundle landing page.

Pricing

In the Pricing tab, you can set the pricing for your bundle. Choose from the following pricing types:

When a student purchases a bundle, they will only be charged the price of the bundle. They will not be charged the individual price of each course included.

If you are including products in your bundle that are not offered outside of the bundle, you will still want to set your product pricing for each individual product, to ensure that no one enrolls into your individual products for free. Additionally, if you prefer to only sell your products via bundle, and want to prevent students from buying the individual products, set the individual products as Private.

You can also set additional pricing for your bundles

After Purchase

From the After Purchase tab, you can set up the thank you page that students are directed to once they have purchased your bundle. To learn more about after purchase flows, take a look at our After Purchase Flow article.

Publish

Once you’re done adding products, configuring your settings, and enabling your pricing, you’re ready to publish your bundle. To do that, simply go to the Publish tab and hit Publish!

Landing Page and Preview Bundle

To create your landing page for your bundle, click on Build Landing Page to be taken into Site Builder to create your bundle landing page.

To preview your bundle, select Preview Bundle. This will show you how the bundle will look on the landing page.

Take It a Step Further

The items listed above are all essential parts of creating a bundle. However, there are still a variety of other features you can choose from to give your customers the best value!

Build Your Bundle Landing Page

Your bundle landing page is a webpage on your site where you can showcase what your bundle offers and prompt leads to hit that sign up button!

Every bundle that you sell through Thinkific has a bundle landing page created by default.

Send a Bundle Welcome Email

Sending your users a bundle welcome email is a great way to engage with them after they have made their purchase. Bundle welcome emails are customizable emails that can be sent to your users upon registration in a particular bundle.

Welcome emails allow your users to access their bundle right from their email and give you the opportunity to market and sell by prompting users to explore new learning products and join existing Communities.

Link to Your Social Media Communities

Give students a quick and easy way to access your social media platforms and/or community by including those links on your bundle landing page.

Depending on how you want the links to appear, there are two ways you can link to your external social media platform/community:

Create a Drip Schedule

A Drip Schedule allows you to control when students will have access to your course content.

The Drip can be based on when your student first enrolls into your course, so each student will have their own schedule based on their unique start date! This feature is based on lessons within a course, so it is currently limited to courses.

Create Learning Paths

Thinkific's Learning Paths feature allows you to create a curated student experience to engage with course content in an organized way. Based on Bundles, Learning Paths help you facilitate holistic learning programs, creating a more structured or formal learning initiative.

No need for workarounds - build directly in Thinkific, this feature allows you to guide your students through their learning content and even assign a certificate after the completion of the whole path.
