Question
- Can I bulk set student expiry dates in courses?
- Can I mass edit enrollment expiry dates?
- Can I automatically set course access to only 1 year for all students?
Solution
You can use bulk enrollment functionality to edit the expiry dates in certain scenarios! Note, however, the expiry dates might not be set in bulk in every scenario. Learn more about it here: Bulk Enroll and Unenroll Students.
If you still need to bulk set or edit expiry dates for students who are already enrolled in your course(s), depending on your plan level there are several additional options available:
Use an Enrollment Duration to Automatically Set Expiry Dates for New Students Signing Up
Our Enrollment Duration feature allows you to automatically set an expiry date for each student as they enroll into your course. For example, if you set an enrollment duration to 365 days, then each student will lose access 1 year after they enroll into your course.
Please note: If you change the enrollment duration for a currently published course, the new enrollment duration will not impact any existing students. It will only apply to students going forward.
Manually Edit Individual Expiry Dates
On any Thinkific plan, including the Free plan, you can edit a student's course expiry date. Using this option, you are able to individually edit each student's expiry date for each course they are enrolled in.
Using Zapier to Automatically set Expiry Dates
When creating an Enroll User action in Zapier, you have the option to include an expiry date. Learn more how to set that up here!
Using Thinkific's API to Edit Expiry Dates
Thinkific's API - Advanced Programming Interface has an endpoint for Enrollments that allows you to get, update, and create enrollment information including expiry dates. Learn more about the API documentation here!
Important Considerations
- If you are looking to immediately remove student access to a course, you have the option to unenroll students (on any Thinkific plan) or bulk unenroll students (on the Grow plan or higher).
