It is certainly possible to send a Site Welcome Email through another email marketing platform, such as ActiveCampaign!
As you set up the email template in the platform of your choice, you will want to use your express sign-in link in your email to allow your students to set their own password. When using this link in another email marketing platform, you will need to make a slight modification to the link by replacing the email variable with the other platform's variable.
For example, take the following express sign-in link:
https://yoursite.thinkific.com/users/express_signin?email=~Contact.Email~
To modify this for use with ActiveCampaign, you can replace ~Contact.Email~ with their email variable, which is %EMAIL% (as per their article, Personalization Tags). The link will then look like this (make sure that you change yoursite.thinkific.com to your site's URL as well!):
https://yoursite.thinkific.com/users/express_signin?email=%EMAIL%
You can then add this link to your customized email template to direct your students to click on it to set their own password!
