Troubleshooting Course Validation Errors
About Course Validations
Validating your course is one of the last steps in ensuring your course meets all of Spotify’s requirements before being submitted for review. Whether you've completed editing your course or wish to save and resume later, you can access your Spotify Course Settings & Course Validation anytime to ensure you’re on the right track.
How Course Validations Work
The course validator will automatically run a validation check on your course content, course details, and Spotify profile against Spotify’s course requirements. This process will create a list of action items that will require your attention before your course is submitted to Spotify. If there are issues within your course content, a direct link will be provided for you to address the validation errors within the specific lesson. Once you've addressed all errors, you can re-run the validation to ensure your course has met all requirements. You won’t be able to submit your course for publishing to Spotify until your course has passed all validation criteria.

- Click Submit to Review to send your course to Spotify for review
Troubleshooting Course Validation Errors
Lesson has unsupported text content
One of your video lessons has content within the Add Text field. Text content is currently not supported on Spotify. We recommend saving any necessary text information or supplemental course content as downloadable files and attaching them to the video lesson. Your files should be 2GB max.
If you do not see any text in the text editor and the lesson is still not valid, click on code view <> and delete any text before saving the lesson.
Lesson is an unsupported lesson type
Only video lessons are supported at the moment for Spotify courses. All other lesson types must be removed or reworked into a video lesson. You can attach any additional content as a downloadable file to your video lessons.
You can add downloadable files to your course on the Course Settings page if your content is not lesson-specific. This is a great option for required course materials, such as handouts and course reference materials. These downloadable files will only be accessible after purchase.
Course does not have a minimum of 4 lessons
Your first 2 lessons will be free for all users to access on Spotify. Because your first 2 lessons are free, there is a required minimum of 4 lessons in a course. Create additional video lessons to meet this requirement.
Creator profile details are missing
You can edit your profile up until you submit your first course to Spotify. Please ensure your profile is completed before submitting your course for review.
Your Spotify profile has incomplete fields. All the required fields (*) must be completed before the course is approved.
