How can students turn off or unsubscribe from email notifications?

There are some automated student-related email notifications that can be turned off at a per-student level!

What notifications can students manage?

Students can turn off the following notifications from within their account settings:

• Weekly reminder email - Receive a weekly email to remind you to continue progressing through your courses. This only applies if this email is turned on by the Site Owner or Site Admin.
• Discussion replies - Receive an email when someone replies to a discussion post you created.
• Community activity - Receive an email when someone comments on posts that you follow, mentions you, or replies to you.

Contacts (leads or students) can unsubscribe from the following notifications:

• Email Marketing sequence emails - these emails include an unsubscribe link that students can click to be removed from future emails sent using the email marketing feature.

How to Turn Off Email Notifications in a Student Account

1. Log in to your student account
2. Go to My Dashboard
3. Select your name in the top right corner of the screen
4. In the dropdown menu, select My Account
5. Select Notifications 
6. To turn off a notification, uncheck the box to the left of the description
7. Click Save Changes

Community Notifications

Community notifications can also be turned off directly from any Community a student has access to. Turning off Community notifications is global. If they turn off notifications in one Community, it will apply to all Communities.

1. Log in to your student account
2. Go to My Dashboard
3. Select your name on the top right
4. In the dropdown menu, select My Account
5. Click on Notifications 
6. Uncheck Receive email notifications for mentions, replies and posts in my Communities
7. Click Save

Important Considerations

• These particular notifications can only be turned off on a per-student basis by the student, a Site Owner or Site Admin cannot turn them off at a per-student level. They can be turned off site-wide, which you can see instructions on here: Automated Email Notifications.
• It is not possible to turn off the web app, in-app, or push notifications.
