If you have created a Presentation lesson and need to update one of your slides, you can simply replace your existing slide with an updated image!

This process works great for one or two of your slides. If you have several slides that need to be updated or pages that need to be added or reordered, we recommend deleting the existing Presentation and uploading a new PDF.

It's not uncommon that you will need to edit a Presentation after uploading it to Thinkific. If you want to replace the image for one of your slides, you have the option to replace an individual slide directly within your Presentation in Thinkific!

When you first uploaded your PDF file to your Presentation lesson, the pages of your original PDF file were converted to images. This means that in order to replace a single slide, you will need to upload an image file type!

Recommended File Type

To replace a slide, you'll need to save the page you are looking to update as an image. We recommend the following file types:

  • png
  • jpg/jpeg

Recommend Image Size

To ensure that your replacement image appears the same size and quality as your original slides, you will need to export your image from the original working file.

This means there is no specific recommended image size as it is dependent on your original file. You'll just need to make sure you export an image from your original PDF file without making any alterations to the original dimensions, and that the exported image file is less than 4MB

Most platforms will allow you to simply export a single page from your file as an image! Check out how to save a slide as an image in these common platforms:

PowerPoint: Export an Image from a Slide

Keynote: Export a Presentation to Another File Format

Google Slides: Download a Slide as an Image

How to Replace a Slide

Once you have saved your updated slide as an image, check out the following instructions for how to update your slide in Thinkific!

Replacing a slide will not affect any audio that you have uploaded or recorded. The original audio will remain on your replacement slide.
  1. Navigate to your Presentation lesson in Course Builder
  2. Scroll down to the Presentation pages area
  3. Click the Page you want to replace to expand the menu options
  4. On the bottom left of the slide image, click Replace
  5. Drag and drop or click Select Files to Upload
  6. Choose your replacement image
  7. Click Upload
  8. Click Save to apply your changes

And that's it! Preview your course after uploading to review your slides and make sure you are happy with your results!
