Engage your students through communities, live events, and notifications in the Thinkific Mobile App or your Branded Mobile App.
How to Engage Students on the Go
The Thinkific Mobile App and a Branded Mobile App allow you to easily engage your students wherever they are, using a native app on their mobile devices. Once your students have downloaded the Mobile App (Thinkific or Branded) and logged in, they will have access to a variety of ways to stay engaged with your learning program.
Start by setting up your mobile app:
Engagement Features on the App
Supported engagement features
The following engagement features are available on the app:
- Communities, including spaces
- Community interactions: posts, replies, reactions, mentions
- Community post and reply management: edit posts, delete posts, flag posts as inappropriate
- Community posts and reply following
- Community: trending posts
- Ability to link courses to community spaces
- Community member directory and profiles
- Direct messages (DMs)
- Events, including Coaching & Webinar products and Community events
- Mobile & Push notifications
Unsupported engagement features
The following engagement features are not supported on the app:
- Community post management: pinning posts
- Notifications: custom notifications
Access Communities on the Mobile App
Your students can access communities they are enrolled in either from the Home tab (using the Community Highlights section) or from the Communities tab, where students can find a community and the space they want to interact with.
Once your student has selected a space within the community, a feed of posts in that space will appear. Your students can view the most recent posts or trending posts and interact with them by reacting or replying. They can also make posts in the space (if the space is not set as read-only) and attach files.
Your students can also see other users in the community by reviewing the member directory section of the space.
Access DMs on the Mobile App
If direct messaging (DMs) is enabled on your Thinkific site, your students can share private, one-on-one messages with other students, instructors, and admins in the DMs tab. In this tab, students can see all of their direct messages and start a new conversation. The notification dot on the DM tab will indicate when a new message is received.
Access Events on the Mobile App
Your students can access Coaching & Webinar products and Community events they have access to either from the Home tab (using the Upcoming events section) or from the Events tab, where students can find a all live events they have access to. They can navigate and see the list of events in the future or the ones that have already passed.
Access Notifications on the Mobile App
Mobile and push notifications allow your students to stay up-to-date with their learning communities and keep your content top of mind.
The in-app and push notifications are sent:
- When they are added to a community
- When an Admin creates a new post
- When someone mentions them in a post
- When someone comments on their post or a post they are following
- When someone replies to their comment or a thread they are following
- When a new drip lessons is released and previously locked content is now available.
To access the notifications feed, from any tab in the app, click on the bell icon. The bell icon will have a red dot indicating new and unread notifications.
Important Considerations
- Features that are not available in the Mobile App can still be accessed using the web (browser) version of your Thinkific site.
