About Website and Website Pages
The Website section in Thinkific provides an overview of all your website's existing pages. Website and Site Builder let you quickly edit those pages, add new custom pages, and manage which page a visitor sees by default when they first open your site. By showing only those pages you're actively working on, the Website section helps you stay focused on what matters most — creating a simple, engaging website to sell your products!
Website and Website pages are different from Landing Pages. When you are just starting out with Thinkific, you will most likely start with Thinkific's AI-Assisted Landing Pages: single-focus AI-generated pages designed to let you quickly create beautiful pages and get to selling in no time. As you grow and create multiple products, you can consider creating a full website to host all information about you and every product that you offer.

How It Works
To access the Website section:
- From your Admin Dashboard, select Channels
- Select Website
Here, you will see all pages created using the classic Site Builder editor and that are based on Site Themes. Learn more about them here: Site Builder Overview.
Under the Website section, you will see four tabs:
- All - this is where you can find all of your website pages
- Product Pages - this is where you can find all of the Theme-based product pages that use the classic editor. This includes Course, Community, Bundle, and Membership pages.
-
Default Pages - these pages are automatically created to make sure your website is equipped for its two main tasks:
- Selling your products to visitors, and,
- Allowing enrolled students to access their products
Learn more about Default pages here.
- Custom Pages - you can further customize your website by adding new custom pages that will appear here. Click the + New Custom Page button on the top right and follow the instructions in our Custom Pages article.
In each tab, you can search for a page you are looking for using a search bar or by reordering all pages.
Selecting a Home Page
You may have noticed that one of the default pages created for your site is labelled Home Page. If you haven't changed anything yet, that page will be redirected to another page. The page set as a home page will have a house icon on its card. To see what page is set as a home page, in a new browser or an Incognito window, go to yoursite.thinkific.com where yoursite is your Thinkific subdomain.
When your account is first created, we automatically set the landing or the product page for your first product as your home page, because your first product is likely to be the main focus early on. However, as you create more products (which come with their own landing and product pages), you may want to change which page visitors see first — or start using a separate home page that can promote your products and your site in a more general way.
If you want to start using the default page Home Page as your actual home page (which we recommend once you have several products), you can follow these instructions: Home Page Redirects.
Important Considerations
- Once you open a page to edit it in the Site Builder, our page- and section-specific Site Builder articles will guide you on how to make more specific edits to those areas.
- Only 25 pages will show up in the Website section at a time. Use a search bar to look for a specific page if you do not see it on the list.
- Default pages that require a sign-in to view (e.g. Student Dashboard), default pages that have dynamic URLs (e.g. Checkout page), and product pages for products in Draft will not show a preview image when viewed in the Website section.
