How the Articulate Integration Works
The integration connects your Articulate 360 AI account to your Thinkific site using a one-time OAuth authorization. Once connected, Articulate Rise courses can be published to Thinkific as SCORM packages directly from Articulate with one click. The connection is initiated from the Articulate side — Thinkific appears as a publish destination once you've linked your Thinkific account.
Course content, structure, and completion logic are managed in Articulate; Thinkific handles delivery, learner access, progress tracking, and certificates. The sync is one-way: Articulate is the source of truth for course content, and updates must be republished manually each time you make a change. On your Thinkific site, you’ll see a button allowing you to edit your course, which will bring you back to Articulate to make your edits and republish to Thinkific.
Get Started with the Articulate Integration
To get started with the Articulate integration, ensure that you have Thinkific and Articulate accounts and both are on the right plans. This integration is available on Thinkific Plus and Articulate 360 AI Team plans.
After setting up accounts on both Thinkific Plus and Articulate 360 AI Team, you can connect the two platforms, publish courses from Articulate Rise directly to your Thinkific site, and edit those courses from within Thinkific. Learn how to do it here: Rise 360: Publishing Content to Thinkific.
Important Considerations
- This integration is available on Thinkific Plus and Articulate 360 AI Team plans. There is no additional Thinkific fee to connect if your site is already on Plus.
- There is a file size limit of 1 GB per package and 1 GB per individual file within the package.
- SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 4th Edition are supported.
- At the moment, only Articulate Rise is supported. Articulate Storyline is not supported.
- Changes made in Articulate are not automatically synced to Thinkific. You must re-publish to Thinkific from Articulate after every edit.
- Republishing content from Articulate resets progress for learners who are partway through the course on Thinkific.
- You can preview the course in Thinkific. Preview mode on Thinkific launches the SCORM package but does not save progress.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I connect multiple Thinkific learning environments to Articulate?
Each Articulate account can be connected to one Thinkific learning environment at a time, but you can publish to multiple environments by disconnecting and reconnecting the integration. A course can only be published to one Thinkific site at a time. If you need the same content on multiple Thinkific learning environments, duplicate the course in Articulate for each Thinkific environment before publishing.
To publish content from Articulate to multiple Thinkific learning environments:
- Connect to your first learning environment and publish your courses
- If you want to publish the same course to a different learning environment, duplicate the course in Articulate before disconnecting
- Disconnect from the first learning environment
- Connect to your second learning environment and publish your course(s)
- Repeat as needed for additional environments
Courses published to each environment are retained when you disconnect, but each course can only be published to one Thinkific site. If you reconnect to a previous environment later to make updates, those updates will apply to the courses already published there — the association is preserved.
How do I preview my content before publishing?
Preview your content in Articulate before publishing. After the content is published in Thinkific, use the built-in preview option to launch the content. Preview does not persist learner data.
