Drip schedules are now available for courses built in the new course builder! You can now control when chapters unlock for your learners using the same scheduling options you know from the classic course builder.

APPLIES TO:

  • Plan: Basic and above
  • Role: Site Owner, Site Admin

About Drip Schedules

Drip schedules are now available in the new course builder. You can use them to control when learners access course content - one schedule applies to everyone enrolled.

With a drip schedule, you can release content based on:

  • Each learner's enrollment date
  • A specific calendar date
  • Regular intervals starting from each learner's enrollment date

You can also set custom release dates per chapter for more granular control.

When a chapter is scheduled but not yet released, learners will see a "This lesson isn't available yet" message in the course player, showing the date and time the content will become available in their timezone.

If you are using the classic course builder and would like to set up drip schedules for your courses, see Drip Schedule.

Important Considerations

  • Drip schedules apply to all learners enrolled in the course. Per-learner schedules are not supported.
  • Saving a drip schedule does not retroactively change access for already-enrolled learners who have already passed the scheduled unlock date.
  • Editing an active drip schedule will take effect immediately for all currently enrolled learners.
  • Drip schedules do not prevent learners from returning to previously released content.

Drip Schedule Options

When creating a drip schedule, you can select the following ways in which content is made available to your learners.

On enrollment date

Best for self-paced courses where all content should be available immediately upon enrollment. This is the default option.

By calendar date

Best for cohorts or live launches where all learners should access content on the same dates. When selecting this option, you can choose the date and time (in your timezone) when learners will gain access to the course content. You can also customize release dates for individual lessons within each chapter.

Staggered from enrollment date

Best for courses where content should release gradually. When selecting this option, the first chapter releases on each learner's enrollment date. Each chapter after that releases on a set schedule from that date. You can also customize the release schedule for individual lessons within each chapter. New chapters you add later will follow this schedule automatically.

Staggered from learner start date

Best for courses or manual enrollments where learners may not start right away. When selecting this option, the first chapter releases when a learner first opens their course. Each chapter after that releases on a set schedule from that date. You can also customize the release schedule for individual lessons within each chapter. New chapters you add later will follow this schedule automatically.

How to Set Up a Drip Schedule

To create a drip schedule in the new course builder:

  1. From the Admin Dashboard, go to Products
  2. Select Courses
  3. Select the course you would like to create a drip schedule for
  4. Select Edit content
  5. Select the Settings tab
  6. Scroll down to Drip schedule
  7. Select Edit schedule
  8. Choose your unlock method
  9. Configure your schedule and click Save schedule

Your drip schedule is now created! Learners will see locked lessons until the scheduled date or interval is reached.
