Learning Paths is now a widget you can add to the Learner Hub, letting you guide learners through a structured, sequential set of courses right where they already spend their time - no third-party app or Site Builder setup required.

How Learning Paths Works

Learning paths lives in the Learner Hub as a dedicated widget built on bundles - you turn a bundle into a learning path with a single setting, and the widget handles the rest.

When creating a learning path, you first choose which bundles should behave as learning paths (by enforcing course order on them), then add the learning paths widget to your Learner Hub. The widget automatically displays every bundle you've enforced order on - no need to connect bundles to the widget one by one.

From the learner perspective, they will see each bundle they're enrolled in within the learning paths widget. When clicking on a bundle in the widget, each course will be the order that you've set in the bundle settings, and they will need to complete each course within that same order.

Learning Paths and Certification

Learning Paths also works with certificates, using a simple workaround: add a certificate to the last course in the sequence, and learners will receive it once they complete the full path.

If the last course is also sold as a standalone product elsewhere on your site, anyone who completes just that course - without going through the rest of the path - will receive the certificate too. If you want to offer the course both ways, we recommend duplicating it: one version to sell on its own, and a separate copy to use as the final step in your Learning Path.

How to Turn a Bundle Into a Learning Path

  1. From the Admin Dashboard, go to Sales
  2. Select Bundles
  3. Select the bundle you want to use as a learning path
Optional: Create a new bundle and add the courses in the order you want learners to take them
  4. Under the Products tab, check Enforce order (learning path)

And that's it! A confirmation message appears, and the bundle now behaves as a learning path that will appear in the widget in your Learner Hub. You can then reorder the courses within your bundle into your desired position.

You can only enforce order on bundles that contain only courses.

How to Add the Learning Paths Widget to Your Learner Hub

  1. From the Admin Dashboard, select Learner Hub
  2. Select either the home page or a custom page
  3. Select Edit page
  4. From the Available widgets panel, select the Default tab
  5. Drag and drop the Learning paths widget to your page
  6. Click Publish changes

Once published, the widget shows all of your order-enforced bundles. If a learner has only one learning path-enabled bundle, they see it directly with all its courses; if they have more than one, they see a list they can tap into to view each one.

Important Considerations

  • The Enforce order checkbox only works for bundles made up entirely of courses. If the bundle contains a non-course product (i.e. digital download or community), the checkbox is disabled until you remove any non-course products. Once Enforce order is on, non-course products can't be added to the bundle until it is unchecked.
  • Only one learning paths widget can be placed on a page at a time, though it will still display all of the learning paths you offer.
  • If you add the widget before any bundle has Enforce order turned on, you will see an empty state with a "Go to bundles" button and a "Learn more about Learning Paths" link. It will not be visible to learners when in this state.
  • At this time, the learning paths widget supports courses only - other product types aren't included in a learning path yet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the Learner Hub to use learning paths?

Yes - learning paths is a widget built specifically for the Learner Hub, so the Learner Hub must be enabled on your site before you can add it.

What's the difference between the learning paths widget and Gated Courses?

Learning Paths guides learners through a curated, ordered set of courses with progress tracking, surfaced as a widget in the Learner Hub. Gated Courses (Plus Gold and higher) gates individual courses based on custom conditions and suits more complex prerequisite scenarios. For most structured learning programs, Learning Paths is the recommended approach.
