Question
- Why doesn't Zoom work on mobile when using a Multimedia lesson?
- Zoom does not open from mobile devices
Solution
We have seen issues reported for students accessing Zoom on mobile devices when it is linked in a Multimedia lesson. To give you some background on this lesson type, the Multimedia lesson is an iframe (not a direct connection with Zoom). This means it is simply embedding the Zoom link in your lesson to allow you to display it.
Since it's just iframing the Zoom join link, unfortunately, we're not able to control how that opens on a student's phone. It's likely that when students click on the Zoom link, it's prompting them to open the link in the app to join the meeting, but gets lost between opening it in the course in the browser, to the Zoom app.
That being said, we recommend setting up Live Lesson with Zoom instead as this is a direct connection with Zoom! This will allow your students to easily access your Zoom meeting on both mobile and desktop!
