Frequently Asked Questions
Does Thinkific Support SCORM, Tin Can or AICC Reporting?
Thinkific does not support SCORM, Tin Can or AICC reporting.
Why isn't it supported?
The primary reason for this is due to the costs associated with managing and supporting a SCORM or Tin Can server. These require a very specific server environment, which leads to higher costs. This is one of the main reasons you see systems that support SCORM, Tin Can or AICC charge start-up fees and bill per user. The primary feature of these standards is the ability to track a user's progress, but with the evolution of Cloud Computing, we have been able to build our own Cloud-based software that is accessible on all platforms and tracks the progress and activity of the students without higher server costs.
Can I still include Articulate, Storyline, Rise, or iSpring content in a Thinkific course without reporting?
Yes! If you do have modules created using tools like Articulate, Storyline or iSpring they can be used in Thinkific as long as they are converted for Web (HTML5). Read instructions on adding this content to Thinkific.
What type of reporting is available in Thinkific if I convert my Articulate, Storyline, Rise, or iSpring content to HTML5?
If you convert your content to HTML5 and host that in Thinkific, you will be able to use our built-in reporting. Our reporting is focused on progress through the course, which includes overall lesson views and completion.
You will not be able to report on specific activity within a single lesson, e.g. when a student clicks interactive HTML5 content. However, we have many reporting options measuring engagement at the overall lesson and course level! You can learn more about our reporting options here:
