How It Works
To start the process of Branded Mobile App enablement, you will need to complete the steps outlined below. You will partner with the Thinkific team to help you build and publish your app.
Once your app is built, approved, and released, all your students need to do is download your app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
After downloading and installing the app, your audience can access their learning products, participate in communal learning interactions, and enjoy fast, easy, on-the-go access to materials they need, all within the app that extends your brand identity across all learning channels.

- The Branded Mobile App is designed to deliver amazing learning experiences to students and does not support school administration. Site Owners and Admins (and users with other roles other than Student) will need to use the web version of Thinkific.

Getting Started
Please ensure that you complete the following before purchasing the app:
- Apply to receive a D-U-N-S number. See more: Branded Mobile: Why Do I Need an Apple Organization Account?
- Set up your Apple / Google accounts. Follow these instructions to set up your Apple App Store and Google Play Store accounts.
It can take up to 30 days to receive a D-U-N-S number, which is required for the Apple and Google account setup. Setting up these accounts in advance greatly expedites the app building process.
You can purchase the Branded Mobile App add-on and get started by following these steps:
- From your Admin Dashboard, select Channels
- Select Mobile App
- Select the desired billing option (monthly or annual) or click Sign up for a webinar to join our Branded Mobile Discovery Session webinar and learn more about the app
- After selecting a monthly or an annual option, confirm your payment details and review your order

Accept Terms of Service and select Purchase
You will be charged for the Branded Mobile App add-on right away.
- Once confirmed, you will see the list of required tasks. You need to complete these tasks before our team can start building the app:
- Get a D-U-N-S number, if you have not done so already. Request your D-U-N-S number here.
- Set up your Apple / Google accounts, if you have not done so already. Follow these instructions to set up your Apple App Store and Google Play Store accounts.
- Fill out your information and connect your accounts. Fill out your personal and App Store / Play Store listings information by navigating to Channels > Mobile App > Your Branded App > App Information
- Connect your Apple App Store and Google Play Store accounts by navigating to Channels > Mobile App > Your Branded App > Connect and supplying the necessary keys
- (Optional) Customize your app with your choice of primary colors, text colors, button styles, and more to suit your design preferences: Branded Mobile: How can I customize my branded app colors?
- Once you complete all of the required steps, click Build My App
Our team will start building your app and will be in touch with further instructions.

Branded Mobile-Only Features
The Branded Mobile app comes with unique features that allow you to differentiate your business. These features include:
- Your own Google Play Store and Apple App Store listings: This makes it easy for your audience to discover your branded mobile app while giving you the flexibility and control to personalize your listing to reflect your brand.
- Your own app: App with your own brand name, colors, app icon, and loading screen. Customize your app with your choice of primary colors, text colors, button styles, and more to suit your design preferences.
- Automatic app updates: When new app versions are created, they will automatically be submitted for review and pushed live to your app store listings on your behalf - saving you time and getting the latest and greatest app version in your audience’s hands faster than ever.
- In-App Purchases: Take your audience’s learning journey to new heights! Your users can now expand their skills by purchasing new products directly within your mobile app. With Apple and Google Play’s in-app purchase systems, they can easily tap, purchase, and get access to new products. Mobile-Only Features
Both Branded and Thinkific Mobile Apps offer some unique features that are available only on a mobile. These features include:
- Drip Lessons release notifications: students can now receive notifications on their mobile app letting them know when previously locked lessons are available!
- Push notifications for community activity: draw students back in and keep engagement high with the new push notifications. Students get notified when new activity happens in the communities they are enrolled in.

Course Features
Course features on the mobile app allow your students to access your courses, anytime, anywhere.
The app is considered an additive complement to the web experience. As such, we have prioritized providing end users with lesson types that will allow them to complete learning on the go, and access your content in the most convenient way for them.

Do I need to manually update my Branded app when Thinkific releases a new feature?
No, all mobile apps will be updated remotely by Thinkific.
Can I create learning products or manage my site using the app?
No, the Branded Mobile App does not support school administration. Site Owners and Admins (and users with other roles other than Student) will need to use the web version of Thinkific.
Does the Branded Mobile app work everywhere or are there location limitations?
There are no regional access limitations. We are global, so the Thinkific Mobile app works everywhere Thinkific does.
What are the operating system requirements?
The Branded Mobile app has the same requirements as the Thinkific Mobile app. For mobile device operating system requirements, see: OS (Operating System) Requirements for the Thinkific Mobile App.
Can my students access content offline?
No, at the moment, the Thinkific Mobile App does not support the delivery of content offline. You can allow your students to download certain lesson content (videos, PDFs, audio) and they can view it directly on their devices.
