What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI agents connect to external tools and data sources. When you connect Thinkific MCP to an AI agent like Claude, the AI agent can read your school data directly, the same way it might connect to a calendar or a spreadsheet. You authorize the connection once, and the AI agent handles the rest.
How the Thinkific MCP Works
Managing a Thinkific school at scale involves a lot of context-switching: jumping between learner profiles, course lists, enrollment records, and product catalogs to answer a single question. Thinkific MCP brings all of that into one place: an AI agent, like Claude. Instead of navigating the admin dashboard, you describe what you need in plain language and an AI agent retrieves it.
The connection is authorized once through a secure login flow. An AI agent uses this to retrieve information from your Thinkific school on your behalf. Your login credentials are never shared.
Access is currently read-only. An AI agent can search and retrieve your school data (courses, learners, enrollments, bundles, and products) but cannot modify records. Your Thinkific school data is not used to train AI models.

Important Considerations
- This feature is currently in Beta and is available on Claude only.
- OAuth tokens can be revoked at any time from your Thinkific Connected Apps settings — revoking access immediately removes AI agent's ability to read your school data.
- The MCP supports read operations only. An AI agent can find and retrieve information from your school, but cannot make changes to courses, enrollments, or learner records in this version.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can an AI agent see my billing or payment information?
No. Thinkific MCP does not give an AI agent access to billing, payment, or financial data. Access is limited to courses, learners, enrollments, bundles, and products.
Does Thinkific use my data to train AI models?

Can I control which data an AI agent can access?
