Coupons are set to expire at 00:00 UTC on the expiry date. If it appears that your coupon has expired early, this is likely due to your time zone. We don't currently have an option to change the time zone that a coupon expires; it will always be 00:00 UTC regardless of your local time zone.
- Example: If you set the expiry date as August 15th, the code will be valid until 11:59 PM UTC of August 14th.
This also means that a student that does not live within a time zone that aligns with UTC will see that the coupon code has expired before or after 12:00 AM, August 15th, in their local time.
- Example: Students in Pacific Standard Time (UTC-08:00), will find that the coupon code expires at 4:00 PM PST, August 14th, their local time, while students located within Australian Western Standard Time (UTC+08:00) will see that the coupon code expires at 8:00 AM AWST, August 15th.
Important Considerations
- Depending on the location of your targeted student base, you may want to take this into account when setting your coupon code expiration date. You can find a visual representation of world time zones here.
- When marketing or advertising a coupon code, you can avoid confusion by referencing the coupon code expiration date as a full day before the date you had set. For example, if you set the expiration date to be August 15th, you will state that the expiration date is August 14th within your marketing.
