If you have created a course using our Shopify App, this course will automatically be set to Private and Hidden.
Since you are selling through Shopify, we have applied these settings by default to prevent any students from unintentionally signing up for Free through your Thinkific checkout.
To give a bit of background on this, Shopify acts as your checkout for your Thinkific course. However, Thinkific also has a built in checkout option. We have found that most Shopify customers only want to use the Shopify checkout, so we automatically apply these settings. This way you don't have to worry about the Thinkific checkout at all!
What does Private and Hidden mean?
The Private setting completely blocks your Thinkific checkout. This means that the only way students can enroll is through your Shopify checkout.
The Hidden setting hides your course from automatically appearing to visitors on your Thinkific site. Thinkific is a course creation platform as well as a website, so once you connect Shopify with Thinkific, you also have a Thinkific website that includes landing pages for each of your courses.
Since many Shopify customers already have a landing page where they are selling, we have Hidden the default Thinkific landing page for you.

What if I don't want my course Private and Hidden?
The ability to adjust these features is available on our Start plan and higher. If you upgrade your Thinkific subscription, you will be able to turn Private and/or Hidden off.
If you are currently on the Free Thinkific plan and need this turned off, we can manually adjust this for Shopify customers as a one-time courtesy. Reach out to the Support team with the information listed below:
