Important Considerations

How to Set a Video as Inactive and hide it from Your Video Library

You can set videos to inactive when they are no longer being using on your site directly from your Video Library. Setting it as inactive will remove some customizations and store it in an unplayable mode.

  1. Go to Products
  2. Select Video Library
  3. Search or scroll to the video you want to hide
  4. Click the ellipses (3 dot menu) to the right of the video
  5. Click Move to Inactive
  6. Click Set to video in the confirmation modal

And you are all set! Your video is now inactive and out of your primary video library.

How to Re-activate a Video from Your Video Library

Once a video has been set to inactive, it will be stored in the Inactive tab of your Video Library. From here you can re-activate your video if you need to use it again on your course site!

  1. Go to Products
  2. Select Video Library
  3. Select the Inactive tab
  4. Search or scroll to the video you want to re-activate
  5. Click the ellipses (3 dot menu) to the right of the video
  6. Click Set to Active

Once your video is re-activated, it will return to the Active tab in your Video Library and will take a few minutes to process before it can be used on your site.

Important Considerations

  • We don't currently have the option to bulk set as inactive or to reactivate videos in your Video Library.
  • If you set a video to inactive in Thinkific, and then preview a lesson that includes that media, the video will automatically re-activate. Currently this is an expected functionality. If a student is to view a lesson that includes the media (or if you preview a lesson that includes the media), the video will begin the re-activation process.
  • Videos are automatically set to inactive if they have not been viewed in more than 1 year.
  • Inactive videos remain connected to any courses they are in. If a learner happens across an inactive video, this will be automatically detected and the video will be re-activated so they can watch it again.
  • Inactive videos remain on your account and you can find them in the Video Library to download and/or reactivate manually at any point.
