Migrating to a New Plan
If you are currently on a legacy plan, you can move to one of our new plans at any time. See below for what to consider.
What’s new in these plans?
These new plans better match the value for creators with the features and functionalities that will best serve them at each stage of business. In contrast, our prior plans didn't make it clear when you might be ready for the next plan or would be better suited to stay on an earlier plan. For example, as you grow, features like multiple administrators, bulk enrollments, or advanced student segmentation becomes necessary with a greater number of students and courses. This adds significant value if you’re operating at scale.

Can I switch over to one of the new plans now or are they only available to new customers?
Yes! You can move to one of our new plans at any time. Keep in mind that once you update to one of our new plans, you are not able to revert back to one of our legacy plans.
How do I migrate onto one of these new plans?
You can change your subscription in your Admin Dashboard. You can find more details in this article: Update Your Thinkific Subscription Plan
Do I need to change plans?
You will not need to change plans in 2023. If we ever decide to shift away from supporting legacy plans in the future, we’ll give you a minimum of 60 days' notice and clear options for a smooth transition before you have to change your plan.
Do I have the option to switch back to a legacy plan after I’ve switched onto one of the new plans?
Once you update to a new pricing plan, you are not able to revert back to one of our legacy plans.
Can I combine features from legacy and new plans?
Features on our legacy and new plans can’t be combined.

What is a legacy plan?
Any plans that were available before the launch of our current plans in September 2022 are considered legacy plans. This includes:
- Legacy Free
- Pro
- Pro + Growth
- Premier
- Starter
- Essentials
- Business
- Advanced
Can I upgrade/downgrade to legacy plans rather than switching to the new plans?
While you can stay on your current plan with no changes, if you choose to upgrade or downgrade your plan, you'll need to choose one of the new plans.
Are you planning to remove the legacy plans?
If we ever decide to shift away from supporting legacy plans in the future, we’ll give you a minimum of 60 days' notice and clear options for a smooth transition before you have to move from your legacy plan.

Billing
We know you might have concerns about billing and renewing your existing plans. Check out the questions below to learn more.
When my existing plan comes up for renewal, will I be able to stay on my existing plan?
There is currently no impact on you or your subscription! Your plan will continue to renew on the plan you’re currently on.
What happens to my account if I signed up for Thinkific with a promotional offer?
There will be no impact on the promotional offer you’ve claimed. You can always choose to migrate to one of our new plans at any time, or you can stay on your current plan with no changes at this time. Rest assured, we will always provide ample notice before we make any changes that will affect your subscription.
I am a current customer on a paid plan. Can I migrate to one of the new plans even if I am in the middle of my current billing cycle?
Yes! Keep in mind that your billing will change depending on which plan you start from and which plan you move to. You can find more details about switching between plans in this article: Update Your Thinkific Subscription Plan
