Question
How can I use the Text Editor to add multimedia content?
Solution
You can use Thinkific's WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) text editor to add multimedia content alongside text. This includes images, videos, audio files, and other file uploads.
Images
Click the Insert Image icon in the text editor menu to upload images from your computer files. There is also the option to add a link. This makes your image clickable for students.
Videos
Click the Insert Video icon to add a video from: your Thinkific video library; a link to a YouTube, Vimeo, or other online video; or using the embed code for a video hosted online.
Audio Files
Click the Insert Audio icon to add an audio file from an online source. Click here for instructions to host your audio on Thinkific, so that you can link to it in the text editor.
Other Files
Note: We recently released a security update for the text editor. The Upload File button is now restricted to document and media files.
Click the Upload File icon to add a hyperlink that students can click to download a file such as a PDF or Word document.
Important Considerations
There is a 10MB file upload limit in Text Lessons. All other areas that include a Text Editor, like the Text & Media Site Builder Section have a 4MB file size upload limit. This is intentional to optimize page loading times on your site. If you need to compress your images before uploading, check out Using Squoosh to Optimize Image Files.
