About This Feature
Branded Mobile fits into your audience’s existing routines, making it easier for them to learn and engage with your content — all on their own schedule. This means higher course completion rates, improved student satisfaction, and more revenue opportunities for your business.
The great news is that there is no maintenance required from you when it comes to the app functionality! We have a dedicated team who are regularly making improvements to the functionality of the app, supporting all technical improvements and ensuring the app runs well for your audience, so you can focus on what you do best.
To ensure that you get the full benefit of updated features and bug fixes, you would need to complete the below steps every time a new version is released.
How It Works
When a new version of the app is available, the Thinkific team will notify you via an email to the Site Owner and will provide release notes, outlining the updates and fixes.
Once you receive this update from Thinkific, you can go ahead and update your app by following the steps below.
Update Your App in the Apple App Store
- Go to App Store Connect
- Select your Branded app
- Confirm that the new app version is available by navigating to the TestFlight tab. The latest version will be on the top of the list and will have a Ready to Publish status.
- Select the App Store tab
- Click on the plus sign next to the iOS App header on the left-hand side
- Under the New Version field, type in the number of the version as it is visible in Step 3
- The new app version will appear under the iOS App header
- In the Build section, click on Add Build and select the latest app version (the same version as in Step 3)
- Under the Version Information tab, find the What's New in This Version field and fill it out

- In the sidebar, click the app version under the platform you wish to select
- In the top right corner, click Release
Update Your App in the Google Play Store

Under the Release section, select the appropriate option:
- If you want to release the new app version to be available to your audience right away, select the Production option
-
If you want to test your app first, select the Testing option
You will need to choose the testing track you want to release the new version to. Ream more on it here: Set up an open, closed, or internal test.
- Select the Create new release button on the top right
- Under the App Bundles section, select Add from library
- Select the latest bundle (it will have the highest version number) by checking the box next to it
- Select Add to release
- Under the Release Details section, provide the Release name (we recommend using the app version, e.g. 1.2.1) and Release notes
You can use the release notes provided by Thinkific
